New Reception Area for a medical group in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
|
The
Brief:
The public space to reflect the ethos of a growing
company with a very young staff.
The
Result:
As this was a second floor foyer, we wanted to make
an impact to the extent that people forgot that this
company shared a building with other companies. We
put in a limed wood floor with Paul Smith fabrics
on the furniture and we chose the original oil paintings
on the wall to reflect the modern theme.

Private
Residence, Drumcondra, Dublin 3
|
The
Brief:
These clients did not really have a specific brief
except that they wanted the space to be comfortable
and inviting for large family gatherings and child
friendly for grandchildren visiting.
The
Result:
As this was a very large space with a very small fireplace
left over from the original building, we needed to
make this focal point much bigger to suit the vastness
of the new space, hence we focused on making this
the feature of the room whilst keeping everything
openplan as the patio doors to the garden were the
only means of getting out to the back of the house.
We also painted the tongue & groove wood ceiling as
this was dating the new extension and the new colour
reflected more light into the room. The wall to wall
curtains allowed the clients to close off the room
and make it a little warmer as this could be a very
cold space in Wintertime.

Residence, Sandyford, Dublin
|
The
Brief:
To maximise the space in this bijou home where the
front door entered straight into the sitting room
and from there into a very small kitchen. To maximise
storage everywhere.
The
Result:
We took out the old fireplace and hearth and replaced
it with a solid fuel stove inset into the wall. We
took out the spindles of the banisters to give the
impression of open plan living and we put in a light
coloured wood floor. We added fitted units in each
alcove to maximise the space and placed the TV on
the other wall over a radiator cover to house DVD
Players, wires etc., We painted the existing kitchen
cupboards a pale cream [Colour trend/ Irish made paint]
and added more presses in here and painted them the
same colour so that the whole kitchen looked brand
new.
